Soul Well: Yoga Stretch for Body, Mind & Soul (Wed, Mar-Apr)

Evening yoga and mindfulness practicing to help you regain body, mind and soul consciousness.
(Every Wednesdays from Mar to Apr)
Yoga introduces mindfulness to stretching so that you pay attention to your alignment and how the positions really feel in your body, with conscious breaths.
This 1 hour session consists of a sequence that is organic to how your body moves from head-to-toe, with holding of the each pose for a minimum of 30 to 90 seconds. It will help you to lengthen and stretch your muscles in a safe, effective way and strengthen your major muscle groups. Know that yoga can be done by anybody given the proper modifications.
A solid, consistent practice can improve your strength, flexibility, coordination—and even your mental well-being. The trainer will demonstrate and explain each movement and move among the participants to ensure proper technique and assist as necessary.
While practicing yoga stretch, you will require:
(i) An exercise mat of adequate thickness and density to place on the floor for protection of your spine and knees;
(ii) A long towel or stretchy rubber exercise band; and
(iii) A flat cushion or small folded towel to place under your head, if necessary.
(iv) Blocks/ thick books
(v) A pair of lacrosse balls/tennis balls
A typical 1-hour mat work training session starts with fundamental movements like breathing and gentle spine exercises to warm up the body. This is followed by 40 minutes of mat work movements and finally 5 to 10 minutes of relaxation (warm down) to end the class.
About the Trainer:
Suyin: After years of working under stressful environment, hormone imbalance has led Suyin to practice Yoga. Through the practices, she witnessed the effect of Yoga and how it began to heal her body and get her body back into alignment. She then investigated different styles of Yoga, moving to Vinyasa and Yin before finally developing her own practice to suit the needs of the body and mind. Her love and passion for teaching now comes from a desire to learn from everyone and share all the aspects of her practice that have helped her. In flowing the breath and the body together, she hopes to encourage her students to a mindful practice, cultivating inner peace and self-love.
Fee:
$10/per session or $60/per 2-month weekly course
